Tim Draper acquires Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Yesterday Tim Draper, a well-known Bitcoin Advocate (BTC), claimed to have acquired Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and seemed quite satisfied with the experience.
Tim Draper is giving away $1 million in Bitcoin
Is BCH worthy of praise?
This happened yesterday when Tim Draper commented on Twitter that he had acquired Bitcoin Cash. To be more specific, he noted:
„I recently bought something from BCH. Too easy to buy/use. Go to Bitcoin.com. Thanks to Roger Ver for this innovation.
For those of you who don’t know him, Roger Ver is one of Bitcoin’s early investors and is currently known to be a Bitcoin Cash advocate.
Therefore, it seems that Draper has advertised the Bitcoin.com platform as encouraging his followers to do the same. But what’s relevant about it?
Bitcoin Cash Update Requires New Node Implementation
Why Bitcoin Cash?
The answer lies in the current context of Bitcoin Cash. Basically, Draper’s comment comes at a time when we’re seeing high network fees and almost eternal confirmation times.
Certainly BCH doesn’t seem to be affected by the challenges faced by other networks like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). And, therefore, that seems to be a good reason why you might turn to BCH.
However, not everything is perfect. BCH may not be facing the same problems as BTC or ETH at the moment, but it also has its work cut out for it.
Last week the Bitcoin ABC development team released a new version of their latest and controversial update, which experts say could cause Bitcoin Cash to suffer from a second division.
Thus, during the last weeks, there has been a lot of discord among the Bitcoin Cash community as a result of Bitcoin ABC’s decision to adopt the ASERT algorithm and the controversial infrastructure funding proposal.
The problem is that the update that will take place on November 15 is so unpopular that it could split the Blockchain in two.
In fact, Roger Ver himself said that „diverting part of the Bitcoin Cash block reward to pay for a single development team is a Soviet-style central planner’s dream come true. Please stop.
He later wrote on Twitter, „Bitcoin ABC and they’ve announced that they’re splitting from Bitcoin Cash on November 15. „We wish them good luck with their new currency and thank them for the free airdrop to all holders,“ he added.
So, the question now is: How will Bitcoin System be affected by this dilemma, and will Tim Draper take it into account?
